Social Media Race Story

We raced as Tri Hard or Tri Home, a three-person team of Samuel Hill, Joseph Long, and Paul Cooper, one bib and one clock for the whole team, in the Teams contest at the Harbor Bay Triathlon in Harbor Bay, California, on October 24, 2026. The swim leg closed out in 2:35, the shortest stretch of our day. The bike leg took longer, 1:08:45, bringing our cumulative time to 1:11:20 through that checkpoint. From there the run to the tape added 17:25 more, and we crossed together in 1:28:45, 1st of 8 teams entered in the contest. No other team passed us at any timing mat across the sixteen miles of swim, bike, and run. We were off the course before nine in the morning, inside the top 13 percent of everyone timed that day, teams and individuals together. Three names, one bib, one number on the clock: that is what racing as a team instead of alone looks like, and on October 24 it meant Tri Hard or Tri Home led from the water all the way to the tape.

Detailed Race Performance

You raced as Tri Hard or Tri Home, a three-person team of Samuel Hill, Joseph Long, and Paul Cooper, in the 16-mile Teams contest at the Harbor Bay Triathlon in Harbor Bay, California, on October 24, 2026. One bib and one clock covered your whole team through the swim, the bike, and the run to the tape, and you crossed in 1:28:45, 1st of 8 teams entered.

Pace Progression

Your swim covered 750 meters and closed out in 2:35, the shortest segment of your day. The bike leg carried your team to a cumulative 20,750 meters and took 1:08:45 on its own, bringing your total time to 1:11:20 through that checkpoint. From there the run to the finish line covered the rest of the 16-mile course and added 17:25 more, for a final time of 1:28:45. A triathlon result like this is read in elapsed time, not in a single rate: the swim, the bike, and the run are three different disciplines, and no one number describes all three legs together. That is why the honest way to read your day is checkpoint by checkpoint, in time, rather than as one average across the whole course.
